Citizen Connect allows people to see what calls the police are responding to and maps them
El Cajon residents can now keep informed about police activity in their neighborhoods by using a new web-based technology on their mobile phones or computers.
Citizen Connect allows people to see what calls the police are responding to in nearly real-time and includes a map that shows the location of the call, El Cajon police announced Friday.Residents can also receive alerts when police are active in those locations and can review previous calls that are closed by typing in ranges of dates.
“Citizen Connect promotes transparency and communication between the community and the police department,” said incoming Police Chief Jeremiah Larson. “We are excited about this new capability.”San Diego County’s newest Trader Joe’s — with a big parking lot — opens Friday7.
