Some 14 million motorcycles nationwide are plying the streets without license plates, an alarming number that Sen. JV Ejercito said should prompt the government to shelve the law mandating two-wheeled vehicles to have bigger plates.

Instead of requiring motorcycles to have bigger rear license plates and front sticker number plates as mandated by law, the senator suggested that LTO should use RFID, or radio-frequency identification stickers, to make it easier for authorities to inspect motorcycles. —Marlon Ramos
