While Doc Brown and Marty McFly are iconic time travelers, the Back to the Future franchise reveals that they weren't the first to use the DeLorean. Doc Brown's dog, Einstein, actually predates their adventures by serving as the first test pilot for the time-traveling vehicle.
The Back to the Future franchise may revolve around them, but neither Doc Brown nor Marty McFly were the world's first time travelers. This is a point that many viewers can overlook about the movie, since it certainly feels like Michael J. Fox's Marty is the first one to go back in Doc's time-traveling DeLorean - but he gets beaten by a technicality.
Of course, Doc and Marty weren't the only people to use the DeLorean either. Marty's girlfriend Jennifer and Old Biff also took spins in the machine - though series director Robert Zemeckis later regretted including Jennifer in the trip to 2015, since she was left with little to do. However, beating them all to the punch when it comes to time travel is Doc's other best pal.
