With only three weeks left before the ANC Youth League national conference takes place, several names have appeared as frontrunners for the position of president.

Malatji is the national youth task team deputy coordinator while Hassan is serving as the deputy convener. Zuma retained her post as a fundraiser of the task team during the reconfiguration. The NYTT announced last month that the youth conference would take place on June 30 in Nasrec, Johannesburg. This will be the first youth league conference after an eight-year hiatus.

The ANC national executive committee gave the NYTT a deadline to take the league to a national conference before the end of June. City Press can reveal that the NYTT has been meeting over the past few weeks to draft the policy document for the conference. Though Eastern Cape has Godlimpi, some are said to be behind Malatji. The source said even Cosas is behind its former president.
