KOTA KINABALU: A border security development framework that is focused on improving safety at Sabah’s borders has been submitted to the government for consideration.
Sabah Police Commissioner Comm Datuk Idris Abdullah said the details on the implementation of the plan was still being discussed.
"We are taking into consideration the land, sea and island borders and how we want the demarcation to be tighter so that foreign elements will not be able to infiltrate the country so easily," he added. He added that the police were approaching the demarcation process by considering the macro and micro aspects of the plan."I urge the people to collaborate with the police in order to maintain the safety and prevent outside elements from disturbing that," Comm Idris said.
This was also, he added, in line with the police’s initiative to curb crime as well as improving its omni-presence so that the community will feel more safer."It is our approach to be present in the community and create an environment that is safe and harmonious," Comm Idris said.
