Anthony Edwards erupted for 41 points, leading the Minnesota Timberwolves to their eighth consecutive victory with a dominant 128-102 win over the struggling Utah Jazz . Jaden McDaniels complemented Edwards' performance with a double-double, finishing with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Donte DiVincenzo added 11 points and seven assists for the Timberwolves. Minnesota is currently locked in a tight race for the sixth seed in the Western Conference with the Golden State Warriors.
Collin Sexton paced the Jazz with 22 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Timberwolves' onslaught. Walker Kessler contributed 15 points and 19 rebounds for Utah, while Lauri Markkanen chipped in 16 points. The Jazz, missing two of their top scorers in Keyonte George (foot) and John Collins (ankle), struggled offensively, committing 22 turnovers and failing to find consistent scoring throughout the game. Edwards' phenomenal performance included 16 made shots out of 27 attempts and five 3-pointers. This marked the seventh time this season he has surpassed the 40-point mark. Minnesota's last loss came against Utah on February 28th. In that game, the Timberwolves were without three starters: Edwards (suspension), Rudy Gobert (lower back), and Julius Randle (groin strain). Edwards wasted no time in establishing dominance, scoring 19 points in the first eight minutes, culminating with a thunderous dunk over the 7-foot Kessler that gave the Timberwolves a comfortable 28-12 lead. Edwards' impressive scoring performance allowed him to move past Andrew Wiggins into third place on the Timberwolves' all-time scoring list. He now trails only Kevin Garnett and Karl-Anthony Towns
