This election could fundamentally change the Bexar County Commissioners Court.
It’s often said that not enough people know what happens in the Bexar County Commissioners Court. The lack of attention is a shame, because the decisions at Commissioners Court have major ramifications on our community. This election will change the makeup of the court as voters decide on a new county judge, and select commissioners in Precinct 3 and Precinct 4. In this editorial, we are focusing on the commissioners races.
He told us he’s interested in bolstering public safety, enhancing transportation infrastructure and reducing property taxes. During “all those years of working behind the scenes … getting those big rallies together and getting people organized, I had no idea the power that a candidate has to talk and that as I’m going out with people, I can get them activated in a different way,” she said. “So I’m running because of 2024.”
Calvert, 42, has held the office since 2014. He’s an experienced, dedicated leader. We will always appreciate his efforts to address long-standing trash and dumping issues in townhomes in the Camelot II neighborhood. Much of his work focuses on the needs of working families and promoting economic development, affordable housing, infrastructure, health care and job development.
