About a month before the WHO declared the global emergency over, President Joe Biden signed a bipartisan congressional resolution that brought the national emergency to a close Thursday, three years after it was enacted.
“COVID is going to be with us, but we know how to live with it in a way that need not cause disruption, need not put people in the hospital — or worse,” Ashish K. Jha, the coronavirus response coordinator for the White House, said.For all the optimism, however, U.S. health officials warn another COVID variant may arise.
