As City Press reported, the department has also failed to pay contractors. This has affected waste management and the meals served to patients at the hospital, prompting medical staff and members of the public to bring in food for them.The people responsible for procurement at the Gauteng department of health haven’t paid us for four months.
The stock response by the department to all these issues is simply to deny that they exist or to insist that they have now been addressed.
