Other departures set to leave Edinburgh were delayed due to the plane’s landing, with other arriving flights forced into a holding pattern until the runway was cleared. An Edinburgh Airport spokesman said: ‘Our teams were made aware of an issue with the inbound Virgin Atlantic flight and as a precaution stood up response procedures as is standard practice.
