Summary Fantastic Beasts star Eddie Redmayne will be reprising his role as Newt Scamander in Universal Orlando’s upcoming theme park. Epic Universe's The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic is being teased as the most elaborate themed land out of the park’s five areas and will merge timelines from the eight Harry Potter films and three Fantastic Beasts movies.
In October 2023, David Yates said that the fourth Fantastic Beasts film has been “ parked ” and that development won’t continue for the franchise, which was initially planned as a five-movie saga. The seeming discontinuation of the Harry Potter spin-off franchise could be attributed to the controversy surrounding Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and Warner Media’s decision to reboot the franchise with an HBO series. Most importantly, each installment of the spin-off franchise had underwhelming performances at the box office and with audiences, further leading to the abandoned plans.
