The government must appoint “genuine” employer and worker representatives and other government bodies with policy-making functions affecting employers and workers based on tripartism.

THE government must appoint “genuine” employer and worker representatives and other government bodies with policy-making functions affecting employers and workers based on tripartism in order to provide a “stronger” voice on common concerns of businesses and employees, according to the conference resolutions of the Employers Confederation of the Philippines .

As the single voice of employers on labor and social policy issues in the Philippines, ECOP said the government, industry associations, enterprises, and workers organizations should “prioritize the mutual rights and well-being of the social partners in all workplace transitions, and ensure their active participation in social dialogues.”

On June 28 or during the second day of the Conference, one of the panel discussions focused on the “human aspect” in the digital world of work, specifically the state of employee experience and well-being in the workplace, the impact of automation versus humanization of work, and role of social dialogue amid a technology-driven business environment.
