Mohd Afzanizam said for now efforts are being directed to ensure these measures will reach the targeted groups, allowing the economy to be gradually reopened, and most importantly, the spread of Covid-19 remains contained and healthcare capacity remains robust.

He said the government was just trying to emphasise to the citizens on the need to be careful in the future so that cost of MCO stayed low and would not cause a bigger impact. This, he said, would reduce the country’s GDP and Malaysia would likely face a recession and unemployment.
