Fashion brand Eckhaus Latta teamed up with Tinder for an early Valentine's Day party at the Russian Tea Room in New York City. Guests were given T-shirts declaring their relationship status and invited to fill out calling cards with dating identifiers ranging from 'rope bunny' to 'demon'. Comedian Cat Cohen read out the cards, sparking playful connections and setting a lighthearted tone for the evening.
Following their runway show earlier in the day, the brand’s founders Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta teamed with Tinder to throw an early Valentine’s Day party Saturday night at the Russian Tea Room. Upon entry guests were offered long-sleeve T-shirts declaring their relationship status: available, unavailable or it’s complicated. The unavailables were first to go, and were seen draped over the shoulders or tied around the waists of guests throughout the space.
Guests included Paloma Elsseser, Amanda Lepore, Ruby Aldridge, Ella Emhoff, Edie Campbell, Lily McInerny, Coco Gordan Moore, Jaboukie Young-White, Antwaun Sargent and more. In addition to slurping vodka martinis and nibbling on passing poached shrimp platters, the crowd was invited to fill out calling cards, stating names and pronouns and choosing from a variety of dating identifiers, ranging from “rope bunny” and “exhibitionist” to “tease” and “demon.
Comedian Cat Cohen took the mic beneath a large Fabergé egg tree to read out submitted calling cards. “Are you ready to fall in love with Eckhaus Latta?” she asked the room. A woman named Nairobi, a self-selected muse and freaky brat, pondered if her “it’s complicated” relationship would become something more. Matthew, a “vanilla hard dom,” was called on, as was Jeff, “a hunter and a kinkster.” Another woman was in search of a fisherman or a lumberjack — “A man who works with his hands.
