A 32-year-old male nurse employed at Mulago Hospital, Uganda 's main referral facility in Kampala, has died from the Sudan strain of Ebola . The nurse, who initially presented with fever, received treatment at various locations in Uganda before laboratory tests confirmed his Ebola infection. He passed away on Wednesday, prompting a swift response from health authorities . At least 44 contacts of the victim have been identified, including 30 health workers and patients at Mulago Hospital.
Diana Atwine, permanent secretary of the health ministry, assured the public that authorities are in control of the situation and urged citizens to report any suspected cases.
