Eastern Visayas records 42 new COVID19 cases; total rises to 132
The Department of Health confirmed 42 new coronavirus disease 2019 cases in Eastern Visayas Friday, by far the most number of cases recorded in a day in the region.After being COVID-1-free for more than two months, Alang-alang town recorded 17 new cases, while Dagami town has 11 cases. Five other cases were recorded in Bato, Leyte.Meanwhile, the town of Almeria in Biliran province recorded its first COVID-19 case.
There is also one case in Macrohon, Southen Leyte while two cases were reported in Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte.Tacloban City also has one additional COVID-19 positive patient. Most of the cases are locally stranded individuals and overseas Filipino workers who returned to their respective hometowns.
