Eastern parts of Visayas, Mindanao to experience rains due to ITCZ READ:
The intertropical convergence zone or ITCZ—an area where winds coming from the northern and southern hemispheres meet—may continue to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the eastern parts of Visayas and Mindanao, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
PAGASA warned those in Caraga, Davao Region, Leyte, and Southern Leyte to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains. Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms because of the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms.
The public is also advised to be vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusts of wind, and sometimes hail. No gale warning is currently raised over any of the country’s seaboards, as the sea will be moderate to rough over extreme Northern Luzon and light to moderate over the rest of the country.
