The Easter Rugby Festivals wrapped up with Maritzburg and Durban High claiming thrilling victories, while Paarl Boys, Bishops and Wynberg also came away with wins on Monday.
The country-wide events came to a thrilling conclusion on Monday, the final day at Kearsney, KES, St John’s and St Stithians each producing a festival of try-scoring action.
Glenwood and DHS were both successful in their final matches, with Glenwood claiming a comfortable win over Worcester Gim, while DHS scored a last-minute try to snatch a 32-25 win over Marlow. Hosts Kearsney were beaten 26-24 by Gloucestershire’s Hartpury College. In Johannesburg, Paarl Boys fought to a 29-7 win over Northwood, while Durbanville beat Eldoraigne 20-17 and hosts KES were too good for Selborne in a 20-0 win.
St John’s featured a couple of close results, with Pretoria Boys snatching a 31-24 victory over Nelspruit, while Maritzburg College beat Jeppe 26-20. The Western Cape’s southern suburbs schools, Bishops and Wynberg, both came away with wins at St Stithians, where the home school suffered a 15-7 loss to Harare’s St John’s.EG Jansen 10 Westville 22
