EastEnders star Danielle Harold has led this year's winners at the British Soap Awards 2023 after scooping the Best Performer gong for her work as Lola Pearce in the BBC soap
The best and brightest stars of the UK’s favourite soaps were out in force on Saturday evening as the British Soap Awards once again got underway for the 24th year.
Among the most highly sought after awards this year was the Best Leading Performer, which ultimately went to EastEnders actress Danielle Harold for her heartbreakingly authentic portrayal of battling terminal cancer as Lola Pearce. “Their time has been so precious to them and even more to me and I can’t thank all of you enough for helping me.”
This year the show was helmed by Jane McDonald, who stepped in to host the proceedings after Phillip Schofield stepped down from the role amid the fallout from his affair scandal. Despite the change in presenter, the awards kicked off without a hitch, with many of our favourite stars in attendance quick to praise Jane for her impeccable hosting skills.
