South Carolina’s O’Donnell Fortune accounted for the game’s other touchdown, returning an interception 65 yards. Fortune had two other pass breakups and earned the game’s defensive MVP honors.The West offense never found traction and surrendered four sacks and seven QB hits in addition to the pick-six and an interception from East defensive lineman JJ Pegues of Mississippi. Missouri quarterback Brady Cook got the start for the West.

One of those four sacks involved a set of teammates as Cook was sacked by his old teammate, East defensive end Johnny Walker of Missouri.North Dakota State quarterback Cam Miller took most of the snaps at quarterback, the East tallied 22 of its 25 points in the second quarter while its defense held the West scoreless. Miller orchestrated the only two touchdown drives in the entire game.
