EAST PALO ALTO – A dog attacked and severely injured a toddler Wednesday night in East Palo Alto, police said.
The incident was reported around 7:20 p.m. at a home in the 800 block of Schembri Lane, East Palo Alto police Cmdr. David Carson said in a news release. Officers contained the dog while paramedics treated the 1-year-old, who was taken to a hospital. Police are monitoring the child’s condition. Carson said animal control officers removed the dog from the home and are caring for it pending further investigation.“We assure the community that we will work closely with the relevant agencies to thoroughly investigate the incident and take appropriate measures necessary to resolve this matter,” Carson said.Check back for updates.
