Local returning officer for Derby, Emily Feenan is pleased with the way the mayoral election has gone so far. She said: "The whole process from the moment the election was called through to now has gone smoothly. Even yesterday, when people were voting, we did not have any reports of people being unable to vote because they had forgotten their ID.
" Ms Feenan explained that the verification of votes currently under way is of both for the mayoral election and also that of Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner, which result will be announced later today. She said: "Both votes went into the same ballot box at polling stations and so we are separating them out as we go along this morning.
