EastFire update: As of Friday morning, the fire was estimated to be 149 acres in size with containment at 20%.

Firefighters from the Angeles National Forest continue to work to extinguish a brush fire in the Angeles National Forest that began Thursday afternoon.

After plumes of smoke were visible from major freeways during the Thursday evening commute, authorities said Friday"very little smoke is coming from the fire today." As of Friday morning the fire was estimated to be 149 acres in size. Thursday evening, authorities described the area burning as"very steep terrain and a moderate amount of brush and grass."Containment is at 20%. The area burning is in the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument section of the forest.

There are no evacuations or structures threatened. The fire is burning towards a wilderness area at this time.The fire was first reported at 1:39 p.m. Thursday, originating at East Fork Road and Shoemaker Road at San Gabriel Canyon.Glendora Mountain Road from Glendora, CA to the East ForkThe San Gabriel OHV Area will be closed this weekend due to fire operations nearby
