Military members and their loved ones are getting help finding a job -- or new career -- at a job fair Wednesday hosted by Naval Station Mayport at the University of North Florida.
More than 90 businesses are expected to set up shop at UNF’s Adam W. Herbert University Center looking to make some new hires.
This is a tri-base event, which means military families from Naval Station Mayport, Naval Air Station Jacksonville and Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base in Georgia are expected to participate.Separating, retiring or retired service members with ID cardsNavy Veteran Arthur Gore served for 26 years before retiring from the Navy in 2011. He said these kinds of events have helped him along the way.
“Some people attend job fairs without knowing what they want to do or knowing what career path they want to choose. They go to a career job fair and they meet people, and it sometimes gives them an idea of what they would want to do,” Gore said.
