Australia's only Liberal government could be on the verge of folding when parliament resumes next week as Tasmanian Labor plans to move a no-confidence motion against the Premier.

If the motion is put to a vote, the numbers are expected to be tight, with the government holding only nine certain votes in the 25-member House of Assembly. The Labor leader said it was up to Premier Rockliff to determine whether the budget bill will be brought forward.
