However, the same aggressiveness that has led to their success has also resulted in an increase in costly unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. Last week, Eagles defensive lineman, was flagged for unnecessary roughness when he pushed Commanders guard Sam Cosmi with one arm, causing Cosmi to fall.

According to NFL Penalties, the Eagles’ six unnecessary roughness penalties are tied for the seventh-highest total in the league, and Carter has been called for four of them. Despite the high number of calls, Carter said he does not feel like he has a target on his back
