Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick talked about San Francisco 49ers edge rusher Nick Bosa and the huge contract extension he received Wednesday.
last season to join the Eagles, with $30 million being guaranteed, but Bosa’s massive extension should benefit Reddick when he begins to seek an extension himself.
Reddick was happy to see Bosa get the new deal and believes it sets a new benchmark for what the top edge rushers should receive in the future. “I’m happy for him,” Reddick said. “He got the big contract, which is great for him because it’s life-changing. It’s going to set the market, and hopefully, you will start to see more guys get paid.”in the AP Defensive Player of the Year last season voting behind Bosa , Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, and Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones, who is still holding out for a new contract. Reddick was also voted the 48th-best player in the league in the NFL’s Top 100.
Coming off a season where he finished tied for second in the league in sacks and five forced fumbles while adding another 3.5 sacks during the postseason, helping the Eagles get to Super Bowl LVII, it would not be shocking if his agent approached the topic of an extension in the future using Bosa’s numbers if Reddick has another impactful season.
