Philadelphia Eagles fans took to the streets in celebration after securing their spot in Super Bowl LIX. Fans gathered in various locations throughout the city, including South Broad Street, Center City, and Frankford and Cottman avenues. City officials had detailed safety precautions and road closures in place, including information about pole greasing. The Eagles defeated the Commanders in the NFC Championship game, with Saquon Barkley leading the way with three touchdowns and Jalen Hurts adding three rushing touchdowns.
Eagles fans took to the streets shortly after their team punched their ticket to New Orleans to compete in Super Bowl LIX. Fans gathered along South Broad Street, near the stadium complex, as well as along Broad Street in Center City. The Commanders lone first-half touchdown came when quarterback Jayden Daniels dropped a short pass over the middle to Terry McLaurin who took it 36 yards to the end zone. Both teams came out slower in the second half, as both were forced to punt on their first possessions. The Eagles, however, got the scoring restarted on their second possession when Hurts scrambled for his second rushing touchdown of the game.
