Hughlett, 35, played in the first four games of the season before suffering a core muscle injury that required surgery. Hughlett went on IR back on Sept. 30 and missed the last nine games. But it was clear that the Eagles eventually planned to go back to the 10-year veteran and in recent weeks, Hughlett has been out at practice as a spectator. Adomitis was the Eagles’ long snapper in those nine games.“Cal has done a really good job stepping in while Charley's getting back to getting healthy out here, in protection and field goal snaps and getting down and making some plays and we showed him making a couple plays,” special teams coordinator Michael Clay said. “The other players, they get little oohs and ahs for him to go make a play.” The Eagles signed Hughlett this offseason after moving on from two-time Super Bowl champion Rick Lovato, who has since retired after spending some time this season with the Chargers.Before joining the Eagles this offseason, Hughlett was the Browns’ long snapper for 10 seasons and played in 152 career games but just three postseason games. Hughlett is 15th all-time in Browns history in games played.
