The Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders enter their NFC Championship matchup with significant injury concerns. Both teams are dealing with key players potentially sidelined for Sunday's game.
The Philadelphia Eagles are gearing up for their NFC Championship showdown against their division rivals, the Washington Commanders , on Sunday, and all eyes are on the injury report. Several Eagles starters limped off the field after their hard-fought Divisional Round victory over the Rams, with quarterback Jalen Hurts among those nursing new ailments. As of now, the spotlight remains on two key offensive players.
Jalen Hurts, who was visibly in pain after a jarring tackle against the Rams on Sunday, participated fully in Thursday's practice. Wide receiver AJ Brown, who has been navigating a fluctuating schedule due to a knee injury, also joined the practice fully, recovering from both his knee issue and an illness that necessitated a rest day. Rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell practiced alongside his teammates on Thursday, recovering from a shoulder injury that forced him out of Sunday's game. However, not all Eagles players were cleared for full participation. Tight end Dallas Goedert sat out Thursday's practice due to a knee injury, while Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens was also absent, dealing with a back issue. During practice, starting left guard Landon Dickerson took the first-team snaps at center. Wide receiver and punt returner Britain Covey was a limited participant as he continues his rehabilitation from a neck injury. Meanwhile, the Commanders are also grappling with injuries to two of their defensive pillars. Defensive tackle Daron Payne and linebacker Bobby Wagner missed their team's practice on Thursday. Payne is battling injuries to both his knees and fingers, while Wagner is contending with an ankle issue. The Commanders will also be without their starting right guard Sam Cosmi for Sunday's game following a knee injury sustained in their Divisional Round victory over the Lions. Linebacker Frankie Luvu is also appearing to manage a shoulder injury that limited his participation in Thursday's practice
