Metchie and the Texans’ sixth-round draft pick will head to Philadelphia in exchange for tight end Harrison Bryant and a fifth-round pick, The deal is viewed as a low-risk, high-reward move for the Eagles, with NBC Sports Philadelphia indicating that Bryant wasn’t likely to make the 53-man roster out of camp, and that now gives Philadelphia even more depth at the wide receiver position.
Metchie is coming off a season where he had a career-best 254 receiving yards on 24 catches while reaching the end zone once for Houston. Metchie, Houston’s second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, will join a wide receiver group that includes A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson, Johnny Wilson, Darius Cooper and Ainias Smith.Recently, the Eagles also orchestrated a trade with the Raiders to pick up cornerback Jakorian Bennett, and one NFL GM doesn’t think that the Eagles are done just yet, either. “Don’t think Eagles are done with trades.
