EA Sports last published a college football video game for the 2014 season, but the company plans to release a new edition in the summer of 2024.An EA Sports statement confirmed the company is planning for a 2024 summer release of the much-anticipated college football game.
The college football video game franchise ran from 1998 until 2013. The game was discontinued thanks, in large part, to lawsuits, most notably former UCLA basketball player Ed O’Bannon’s lawsuit against the NCAA. He argues the NCAA violated antitrust laws by not allowing athletes to make a share of the revenues.
A judge later ordered the NCAA to pay $44.4 million in attorney fees along with another $1.5 million in costs to lawyers for the plaintiffs..
