BREAKING: E. Jean Carroll’s attorneys argued that Trump’s comments on CNN, made a day after she won a separate defamation case against him, merited “very substantial” additional damages.
to the tune of $5 million, the plaintiff in that case, writer E. Jean Carroll, filed to request that comments Trump made on CNN shortly after the decision be included in her remaining defamation case against him.
The Monday filing by Carroll’s attorneys asks for “very substantial” additional damages, arguing that Trump’s remarks at the CNN town hall “show the depth of his malice toward Carroll, since it is hard to imagine defamatory conduct that could possibly be more motivated by hatred, ill will or spite.”
