An e-bike rider has been hit by a car Longlea and is fighting for life in hospital. 7NEWS

Police believe the cyclist was riding without any lights or reflectors and was wearing dark clothing when he was hit about 10pm on Thursday.

The cyclist is believed to have been riding in a west-bound lane of the McIvor Hwy between Bowles Rd and Longlea Ln in Longlea.The 38-year-old was struck by a car travelling west. The 64-year-old male car driver and his female passenger stopped to help and are assisting police with their inquiries.The McIvor Hwy was closed for several hours overnight while detectives processed the scene.Your cookie settings are preventing this third party content from displaying.
