In addition, Labour MP Mohammad Yasin appealed to the DWP to give an expected reply date to the PHSO findings and specify compensation details to roughly 3.6 million women. Championing the rights of those affected in Bedford, he insisted on the necessity of justice for the WASPI women, mentioning financial hardships among some.
Green Party co-leader Adrian Ramsay MP targeted the matter further, accentuating the urgency for a set plan to resolve the grievance suffered by WASPI women. Ramsay probed: "Will the Minister please set out the timescale by which she will respond to the report and the action that will be taken? ". Ms Reynolds held steady under questioning, reaffirming her previous commentary on the comprehensive investigation the PHSO conducted, asserting: "We are looking into it very seriously, but I cannot make any announcements today."
Furthermore, the report underscored that the absence of timely communication meant many women missed the opportunity to properly adjust their retirement plans. Latest figures from the Office for National Statistics indicate that approximately 3.5 million women born in the 1950s have been affected by the hikes in the state pension age.
