There have been complaints following the delay
The Department for Work and Pensions has issued an update regarding the £150 cost of living payment following delays.
However, a DWP spokesperson has stated that the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II had "an effect" on the schedule and revealed that the bank holiday on September 19 delayed payments.Approximately six million people who claim disability benefits including Personal Independence Payment , Disability Living Allowance , and Attendance Allowance are due to receive the one-off boost. The DWP has stated that it is still on track to pay according to the original scheduled end date.
The one-off £150 boost, which was unveiled by former Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak as part of the UK Government's cost of living support package, is to help those on disability benefits amid the worsening cost of living crisis. People who claim the following benefits may be eligible for the payment:
The payment is issued per individual claim, which means that if two people in a household apply for the money they will both receive the £150. The one-off boost will be paid in addition to the £400 energy rebate that the majority of households will receive, which will be issued in six monthly instalments starting October.
