DWP court ruling could see 50,000 Universal Credit claimants handed £3,000 each
Tens of thousands of people could be owed money by the Department of Work and Pensions thanks to a Court of Appeal ruling.
The court found that people who were switched to UC the were receiving £120 payments compared to £180 for those who remained on the older payments. Over time, it is estimated that those affected could have left worse off by as much as £3,000.
