Following his shocking franchise return in this year's Fast X, Dwayne Johnson is making a new Fast & Furious spinoff movie, only it won't be Hobbs & Shaw 2. Johnson made his debut in the action franchise with Fast Five as Luke Hobbs, an agent of the United States' Diplomatic Security Service who seeks to bring Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto back to prison, though eventually becomes an ally for the former street racer.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but sources report the project will not be Hobbs & Shaw 2, but instead act as way to bridge the story between Fast X and Fast & Furious 11. Chris Morgan will also return to the franchise to pen the script.
