PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte will not endorse any presidential candidate to avoid speculation that he will use public funds to campaign for his preferred successor.
In his pre-recorded Talk to the People aired on Tuesday, the President maintained his stance to stay 'neutral' in the May elections.'Ang akin kasi eh presidente ako tapos magkampi ako ng isa, magdududa 'yung iba, ginagamit ko 'yung resources ng gobyerno, magulo na ,' Duterte said.'Ako, wala akong kandidato, hindi ako namumulitika . I remain neutral,' he added.
'Wala kaming kandidato except of course my daughter, so I have to mention her because she is my daughter,' Duterte said.The President's ruling party, the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan, endorsed the candidacy of Marcos, saying he is the 'candidate whose vision of governance is most aligned with [the party's] 11-point agenda.
