Duterte plans to visit military camps nationwide despite COVID19 threat

MANILA - Despite the ongoing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, President Rodrigo Duterte plans to go around the country to visit military camps in the next few days.

He announced his planned visits on Monday after he admitted that he hates the government’s continued implementation of lockdowns, even though he feels it necessary to comply with health protocols to prevent the spread of the disease. “Alam mo sa totoo lang if there is anybody who wants to be out to enjoy and even to live life normally, ako. Ako ‘yung ayaw talaga sa itong lockdown-lockdown. I hate it. I do not want even myself. Pero ang sabi ko sa inyo, kung kayo hindi makatiis at tinamaan kayo, sorry na lang,” he said in a public briefing in Malacanang

“Same is true for me. If I’m reckless enough, then I’d get it because in the coming days I intend to go around the country. Magbisita ako. Magbisita pa ako ng kampo ng mga military. So I’ll just have to take precautions,” he continued. Malacanang spokesman Harry Roque earlier confirmed that President Duterte is set to visit a military camp to honor several soldiers.
