course and event space for 2024 takes shape, a major Chicago thoroughfare will soon close to the public: DuSable Lake Shore Drive., set for July 6 and 7 in and around Grant Park, has already seen dozens of downtown road closures. At 9 p.m. Thursday, parts of the Drive saw road blocks, with the closure of westbound and eastbound Roosevelt Road between Michigan Avenue and DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

Saturday and Sunday, other iconic streets are also set to temporarily close for the race. Here are the closures to expect July 6 and 7:Northbound DuSable Lake Shore Dr. from McFetridge Dr. to Randolph St.Southbound Michigan Ave. from Jackson Dr. to 8th St.Columbus Dr. from Roosevelt Rd. to Monroe St.Jackson Dr. from Michigan Ave. to DuSable Lake Shore Dr.Ida B. Wells Dr. from Michigan Ave. to Columbus Dr.Northbound Indiana Ave. from Roosevelt Rd. to 13th St.

Pedestrians traveling west must utilize and access sidewalk on the north side of Monroe St., Roosevelt Rd. or Columbus Dr. underpass only. The following alternate routes are available, though officials state additional streets may be closed by the City of Chicago"if deemed necessary":To visit the Museum Campus from the South: Exit DuSable Lake Shore Dr. at 31st St. and utilize Fort Dearborn Dr. to proceed north and access 18th Dr.

To visit the Museum Campus from the North: Access Stevenson Expressway / and merge onto N/DuSable Lake Shore Dr. Exit at 18th Dr.Inner DuSable Lake Shore Dr. will remain open in both directions.Kennedy Expressway will remain open in both directions. Eisenhower Expressway will remain open in both directions.
