A central source for a 2016 dossier on Donald Trump became a valuable FBI informant and agents who worked with him thought he was telling the truth, FBI employees testified
and his alleged ties to Russia in early 2017. The material in the dossier has since been largely discredited. But the FBI signed up Mr. Danchenko as a confidential human source on a range of Russia matters.
