Some fear the planned shutdown by the Economic Freedom Fighters will cause destruction such as looting.
“We suffered a lot in 2021 and after that, it was the floods so we can’t allow any situation of such nature to repeat itself," said CPF chairperson Dawoon Chirwa.
Some worry it might turn into a looting spree while taxi association Santaco says they can’t afford to lose the business.“Strikes interfere with our work and the taxis we use need to be paid for. The banks want their money, they don’t care about any strikes," Santaco's Nkosingani Shange said.* eNCA’s Lethiwe Mdluli reports.
