It is now 52 days until Christmas Day and shops are already stocking up on festive sweets and gifts for early shoppers.As soon as November 1, Christmas music could be heard over the tannoy in multiple supermarkets.
Another shopper elsewhere said: "OK, first Christmas song in Dunnes today. Only almost two months. Cashier said she had already tuned out which is admirable self preservation."
