The second season of HBO's prequel series, Dune: Prophecy, will begin filming in the fall. Emily Watson, who plays Valya Harkonnen, revealed the filming window but stated she is unaware of the plot details for the upcoming season. Dune: Prophecy explores the origins of the Bene Gesserit, set 10,000 years before the events of Denis Villeneuve's Dune films.

Valya's waning influence over House Corrino saw her move to sanction the assassination of Emperor Javicco. The task would fall to Sister Francesca .
