Garrey joins the Vikings after three seasons with Seven Lakes where he was quarterbacks coach. The Spartans averaged 19.9, 21.5 and 20.0 points, highlighted by a 7-4 season in 2021. Seven Lakes also made the playoffs in 2020 but finished 1-9 last year. Garrey was offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Ridge Point, contributing to offenses that averaged 35 points or better in four of five seasons ending in 2019. The team averaged 40.3 points while going 11-1 in 2016.
Garrey takes over a Dulles program seeking its first playoff appearance in five years. The Vikings were 3-7 last year, though all three victories came in District 20-6A.
