One child was killed and another was critically injured in a car wreck in Sevier County, even though they were both wearing seatbelts. Their mother was arrested.

The woman was “extremely intoxicated,” according to the Utah Department of Public Safety, while driving a Cadillac SUV the wrong way on I-70 near milepost 35, when she hit a semitruck. The Cadillac hit the right front of the semi, slid down the side of the truck and dislodged the rear axles, according to a DPS statement. The Cadillac was thrown off the right side of the interstate, and the two children, both of whom were wearing seatbelts, were thrown from the vehicle.
