The first crash happened in May 2023 on Southeast 204th Street in Kent. Body camera video from the incident obtained by KOMO shows Jones admitted to a police officer that he was speeding at the time of the crash.A Kent Police Department officer asked him to estimate his speed at the time of the May crash, and Jones responded, “40 or 50,” the video shows.
The other driver involved in the crash told police he was turning into the road when Jones' Tahoe approached at high speed. Jones was hospitalized and then arrested after crashing again at the intersection of Southeast 192nd Street and 140th Avenue Southeast in Renton on March 19. According to investigators, data from Jones' 2015 Audi A4 showed he was driving at 112 mph and did not brake before running a red light and slamming into a Toyota Sienna.
