Police could find no evidence a fight took place, authorities said.

DUBLIN — An anonymous call about a fight involving a possible weapon — which turned out to be unfounded — resulted in a brief lockdown of Dublin High School and neighboring campuses on Monday.

The call came in at 1:02 p.m. and the high school was placed on lockdown until about 1:40 p.m., according to Dublin police spokesman Miguel Campos. Police also checked the newly opened Emerald High School, he said.In a statement, Dublin High Principal Maureen Byrne said police asked the school to shelter in place “out of an abundance of caution.”

“The police, after conducting an investigation that involved reviewing campus video, searching the campus and tracking the phone call, found no evidence of any altercation,” she wrote. Valley High, which shares a campus with Dublin High, and Wells Middle School were also briefly placed on lockdown. “We want to thank the students and staff at Dublin High and Valley High for their calm and quick response and are grateful to the Dublin Police Department for taking all tips seriously,” Byrne wrote.
