The singer shared an Instagram post on Saturday announcing that her single “Dance the Night” had reached the top 5 in the U.K. The track was created with superstar producer Mark Ronson, who executive produced the entire star-studded“Dance the Night” became the background song for the big dance number that takes place in the first part of the film and features all the Barbies and Kens grooving to a choreographed dance.
The video compilation Lipa posted showed cast members including Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling rehearsing their dance scenes cut with the final footage from the film. Lipa also tagged Andrew Wyatt and Caroline Ailin, who are credited as co-writers of the song alongside Ronson and Lipa. “The song no longer felt like it belonged to me but belonged to Barbie and her perfect/imperfect self,” Lipa continued. “I’m so grateful to all of you dancing at home with us and for Greta and Mark for trusting me with this task!!!”
